After a two year hiatus, we’re excited to be back doing what we do best. Our brand new single ‘Be Someone’ is officially released today on iTunes. It’s been a while but we are back!
“Be Someone’ has been a personal anthem for each of us in Stone Parade. It has helped us navigate through some of the toughest times and darkest moments we’ve been through individually and collectively.” Mark
“It’s a song that is constantly surprising with moments of sheer thrill mixed with moments where I find myself realising this is without doubt the most powerful song we’ve written.” Greg
Lay down your rose-tinted nostalgia, Stone Parade are back with a new single and the promise of an EP in the new year. Following a two-year hiatus, the Sydney band are as brazen and complex as ever; Be Someone is a slow-burning anthem, one which bassist Mark Fouche said even helped the band navigate through dark moments. Sprawling guitars, a sturdy bass line and disarming verses – Be Someone has all the makings to eclipse Stone Parade’s debut hit single My Generation.
We are pumped to announce our new single ‘Be Someone’ will be available for pre-order on iTunes from 11th September and will be dropping officially on 25th September!

Help is all you need when you’re lost The courage to believe little lion heart They say fear becomes a stranger when hope becomes your friend When they said you’ll never be someone
Someday you will overcome Someday you’re gonna be someone, be someone
Oh faith is never here when you’re down Questioning belief in a higher power Everytime the world crashes down around you Come fire, come ruin One day you’ll find your original skin
Someday you will overcome Someday you might need someone Always what you fear the most That someday you’re gonna be someone, be someone
Someday when you face it all Someday you might need someone when all your hope is gone What you fear most lion heart?
You’re gonna be someone, be someone lion heart
Help is all you need when you’re lost The courage to believe, little lion heart
Running, running miles to nowhere I’m falling faster in slow motion Higher, higher isolation No escaping I surrender
I’m floating higher now I’m going to change this world for you I’m going to cut the cut chord that leads all the way
Mr Spaceman, well he’s all alone at sea Is orbiting around us, with his cosmic energy Keep walking, walk on the black sea Like no one else can but Mr Spaceman
I’m drifting farther out Collision sails a fatal course I’m seeing worlds combine and sustain a naked sound
I’m in rapture now I’m gonna wave my last goodbye I’m going to cut the cut chord that leads all the way
Mr Spaceman, well he’s all alone at sea Is orbiting around us, with his cosmic energy Keep walking, walk on the black sea Like no one else can but Mr Spaceman
Mr Spaceman, well he’s all alone at sea Is orbiting around us, with his cosmic energy Keep walking, walk on the black sea Yeah he’s going to make it, Mr Spaceman
I don’t mind taking all of the punches you lay right into me Purified from the poison that spills from these bottles As lies and demons breath tell it like no other
Diamond in the rough is it lost or found? Are you a shadow on the sun when this war is never won? For all the anger in your skin won’t justify consequence Are you leaving now? Won’t you stay another day so we can work this out?
Late at night there’s a codeine castle that keeps your mind at ease Leaving you, these endorphins arrested you cold As an easy way out, easy way out
You’re just a diamond in the rough never lost or found Are you a shadow on the sun when this war is never won? For all the anger in your skin won’t justify consequence Are you leaving now? Won’t you stay another day so we can work this out?
Too many heart beats breaking this town Too many poachers standing their ground Too many vultures feeding on their potions Preying on the rest of us
Too many black thoughts piercing my soul Too many aces taking their gold While Johnny’s up the backstreet cooking up a power fix Living by the needle and gun
Too many dark deeds bringing it down Too many roaches running this town Baby’s caught the syndrome mixing in the red room Now she just a nasty girl
Better than the outside, Better than the outside Better than the streets that take you under Better than the outside, Better than the outside Better than the streets that take you under And some way you get it out somehow you work it out Making all the rights from wrongs, you ain’t gonna work it out
Police man hey man Arrested by the pavement Choking on a Cigarette I know you’re not a big man Just another yes man I know you’ll never let me go
Better than the outside, Better than the outside Better than the streets that take you under Better than the outside, Better than the outside Better than the streets that take you under The black queens of cocaine in pivotal moments and they’ll still run Better than the outside, Better than the outside Better than the streets that take you under
And some way you get it out somehow you work it out Making all the rights from wrongs, you ain’t gonna work it out
You’ll see, you’ll see when the levies gone Come closer, come closer in the desert rain
Watch a dead man walking around In the dark days he’s been there holding on for love Leaving no tears on the ground The dark skies reveal the devils of the dust
All the tears have broken when it falls like desert rain And were sound awake when it falls like desert rain And if you don’t stop believing the voices, believing the voices you’ll always know The seasons pouring when it falls like desert rain
I receded underground I can hear the voices calling out their gods And I’m lost in a nothing sound Of a thousand seasons dancing in the dust
All the tears have broken when it falls like desert rain And were sound awake when it falls like desert rain And if you don’t stop believing the voices, believing the voices you’ll always know The seasons pouring when it falls like desert rain
Rising out like the phoenix spawn Now feel it collide, let the toxins take their course Gravity of the curtain call One final time, the odyssey’s exposed
In quarantine, self contagious, our time will come again
And I will rise through burning forests, yeah you still clip my wings The sun ignites this heavy water, you will push me in The devil’s garden’s thirsty alter, yeah you wont let me drink And I will rise out of the ashes born a ray of light
Breathing out, watch the great divide It swallows us whole, like a needle to the sun Off the grid out to open skies One final time, now liberty transpires
An oceans sway can’t contain and now our time has come
And I will rise through burning forests, yeah you still clip my wings The sun ignites this heavy water, you will push me in The devil’s garden’s thirsty alter, yeah you wont let me drink And I will rise out of the ashes born a ray of light
Defeated when you wake up My whole mind is paralyzed And the beat beat beat of your heart drowns out the rescue
Sleeping under silk skies Lay down watch the world expire And the beat beat beat of your heart drowns out the rescue
Don’t come back down, just let me slip away with you We’re just holding on the beat beat beat of your heart beats to the rescue
Confined now by the silence I scream out but no words commit And the beat beat beat of your heart drowns out the rescue
Frozen as the night owl Motionless as an August tide And the beat beat beat of your heart drowns out the rescue
Don’t come back down, just let me slip away with you We’re just holding on the beat beat beat of your heart beats to my rescue Hit soft and slowly, hit soft and slowly
